From 16 to 21 January, Mrs. Akie Abe visited Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Palestine accompanying Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and engaged in various exchanges.  
Through this visit, Mrs. Abe extended assistance to promote a safe, secure and peaceful environment for everyone as well as to deepen mutual understanding among various culture and history. 
 
Mrs. Abe's activities

1 Egypt (16 - 17 January)
(1) Visit to Cairo University, Faculty of Arts, Department of Japanese Language and Literature
(2) Dinner with Japanese women representing various careers in Cairo
(3) Visit to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Pyramids

2 Jordan (17 - 18 January)
(1) Visit to the Marka refugee camp: Community Based Rehabilitation Center
(2) Lunch with the people involved with the assistance to Syrian refugees

3 Israel (18 - 20 January)
(1) Visit to St. John the Baptist Church and Church of the Visitation
(2) Visit to Hadassah Medical Center Ein Kerem Hospital
(3) Dinner with Israeli women representing various careers
(4) Visit to the Hand in Hand School
(5) Lunch with Israeli scholars of Japan studies

4 Palestine (20 January)
(1) Visit to the Church of the Nativity
(2) Visit to the Beit Jala girls secondary school
(3) Visit to Dheisheh refugee camp
(4) Visit to the Society of In'ash Al Usra
