State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Attends Reception Commemorating the 27th Anniversary of the Accession to the Throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco

On July 30, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ayano KUNIMITSU attended the reception commemorating the 27th anniversary of the accession to the throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Japan, and delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU expressed gratitude for Ambassador Bouhlal's condolences regarding the earthquake that occurred in Kumamoto. She also extended her congratulations on the 27th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne, and expressed her delight that Japan and Morocco, as important partners in the Middle East and Africa region since Morocco's independence in 1956, have built a strong bilateral relationship through exchanges at various levels — both public and private — grounded in the traditional bonds of friendship between the Imperial and Royal families of the two countries. She also noted that this year marks the significant milestone of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and expressed her sincere hope for the further deepening of bilateral ties.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU further noted that the video conference held between the foreign ministers of the two countries in May of this year, and the subsequent issuance of a Joint Communiqué , were highly significant in reaffirming the deepening of bilateral relations and the strong commitment of both governments to close cooperation, and expressed her intention to further advance the relationship, including through enhanced economic partnership between the two countries.
