Meeting between Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco

 On October 24, commencing at 7:00 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, held a meeting with H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid of the Kingdom of Morocco, who is visiting Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows. The meeting was also attended by Mr. NISHIMURA Akihiro, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, and others from the Japanese side, and by H.E. Mr. Rachad Bouhlal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Morocco to Japan, from the Moroccan side.

  1.  Prime Minister Abe welcomed H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid to Japan, and stated that “I would like to express my respect for the steady and stable development of Morocco under the wise and great leadership of His Majesty King”; “Japan attaches significant importance to the cooperation with Morocco, which plays an essential role in the stability of the Middle East and Africa”; “Japan and Morocco have rapidly forged closer economic relations, as symbolized by the expanding activities of Japanese companies in Morocco”; and “Japan intends to continue efforts to develop legal frameworks for further promoting economic exchanges.”
  2.  In response, H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid stated that “I would like to express my congratulations on the successful implementation of the enthronement ceremony”; “It is important to further vitalize economic relations between Morocco and Japan, and Morocco is determined to accelerate the development of legal frameworks between our two countries” and “Morocco expects that people-to-people exchanges in the field of tourism will be also further promoted.”
