Exchange of views between State Minister KUNIMITSU and Minister GHOUJ

On September 1, from 6:00 p.m. for approximately 90 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a working dinner with Dr. Al GHOUJ, Minister of Health of Libya, who is visiting Japan.

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU welcomed Minister Ghouj’s visit to Japan and the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with Mr. UENO, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, noting that these developments will advance bilateral cooperation in the health sector. She also introduced Japan’s support for the health sector in Libya and expressed her hope that bilateral cooperation will further progress in the future.
  2. In response, Minister GHOUJ stated that, based on the signed memorandum, he expressed his intention to strengthen collaboration in a wide range of fields, including the introduction of Japanese medical equipment, cancer prevention and early detection, and human resource development.
  3. Both sides agreed to further deepen cooperation in the health sector and to further advance bilateral relations toward the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
