Meeting between Mrs. Akie Abe, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

On November 27th, Mrs. Akie Abe, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan met with Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Queen of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who was visiting Japan.
Mrs. Abe and Queen Rania reflected on Prime Minister Abe and Mrs. Abe’s visit to Jordan in May of this year and they were pleased with the opportunity to meet again. Mrs. Abe welcomed Their Majesties the King and Queen of Jordan’s visit to Japan for the first time in twelve years. Queen Rania expressed her gratitude for the Japanese government’s warm hospitality during the visit.
Mrs. Abe expressed her sincere condolences for the recent flood disasters in Jordan. Mrs. Abe and Queen Rania had an in-depth discussion on the more frequently occurring natural disasters around the world, rapidly progressing climate change, and escalating marine environmental issues.
In addition, Queen Rania mentioned that Japan has become a popular destination for tourists. For which, Mrs. Abe mentioned that she welcomes the recent surge in the number of inbound tourists to Japan.
The meeting was held in an intimate atmosphere without any entourage and served to further strengthen the friendship between Mrs. Abe and Queen Rania.
