On December 2nd, commencing at 4:30 p.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Gilad Cohen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Japan. The overview is as follows:

  1. State Minister Kunimitsu strongly condemned the terror attacks by Hamas and welcomed the release of surviving hostages and the resumption of humanitarian aid deliveries, following the agreement based on “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict” by the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America. She also stated that Japan strongly calls on all parties including Israel to implement the Plan.
  2. Furthermore, State Minister Kunimitsu stressed Japan’s consistent position to support a two-state solution. Then she reiterated Japan’s strong concern over the rapid increase of settler violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, which was reported by the United Nations, and urged Israel to immediately cease any unilateral actions that run counter to a two-state solution. In response, Ambassador Cohen explained Israel's position.
