  1. On May 2nd, the Third Dialogue to Strengthen the Economic Relationship between Mercosur and Japan was held in Montevideo, Uruguay.
  2. From the Japanese side, Mr. Yasushi Takase, Director-General of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others attended the Dialogue. From the Mercosur side, Ambassador Mr. Juan Alejandro Mernies, Representative from Mercosur, Ministry of External Relations of Uruguay, and representatives from other Mercosur member countries participated.
  3. In this Dialogue, both sides exchanged information on the current situations of trade and investment between Japan and Mercosur. They also exchanged their opinions over measures taken by both sides to promote free trade, and over possible measures to encourage more investment between the two parties.
