Meeting between Mrs. Akie Abe, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan and Mrs. Rocío González de Moreno, the spouse the President of Republic of Ecuador

On September 5th, Mrs. Akie Abe, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan had a meeting with Mrs. Rocío González de Moreno, the spouse of the President of the Republic of Ecuador, who was visiting Japan.
The meeting was held in a friendly atomosphere. Mrs. Abe welcomed Mrs. González de Moreno’s visit to Japan in such a landmark year, which is the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Ecuador. Mrs. González de Moreno thanked for Mrs. Abe’s warm reception.
Mrs. González de Moreno expressed her sympathy to the damage of the recent typhoon. Mrs. Abe said that we were making efforts in disaster risk reduction by putting emphasis on disaster prevention, as Japan was a country with many natural disasters.
Mrs.Abe mentioned that Ecuador was wonderful country blessed with the nature such as the Garapagos Islands, and it was important to protect such environment. Mrs. González de Moreno explained the environmental protection efforts in the Garapagos Islands and other areas of the country, sharing Mrs. Abe’s recognition.
They also talked about efforts to support socially vulnerable people.
