Japan-Bolivia Relations
Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI by Mr. Rodrigo Ignacio Arce, Vice-Minister of Foreign Commerce, Investment and Integration of Bolivia

On August 28, from 2:30 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms. ERI Arfiya, received a courtesy call from Mr. Rodrigo Ignacio Arce, Vice-Minister of Foreign Commerce, Investment and Integration of Bolivia.
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI welcomed Vice-Minister Arce's visit to Japan and stated that both countries are partners who share values and principles, and expressed her desire to further strengthen cooperation with Bolivia under the updated Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP). In response, Vice-Minister Arce stated that Bolivia shares values and principles with Japan, and expressed his desire to continue cooperating to strengthen the long-standing bilateral relationship while closely aligning foreign policies.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI also expressed Japan's expectations for Bolivia regarding the strengthening of global supply chains from the perspective of economic security, to which Vice-Minister Arce stated that Bolivia would like to strengthen cooperation on critical minerals such as lithium, rare earth, and energy, while attracting investment from Japan in the future. Vice-Minister Arce also stated that Bolivia is looking forward to participating in GREEN×EXPO2027, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI welcomed Bolivia's participation.
