Meeting between Mrs. Abe Akie, Spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan and First Lady Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele of El Salvador

On November 29th, Mrs Abe Akie, Spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan had a meeting with First Lady Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele of El Salvador, who was visiting Japan, together with a Salvadoran student, currently studying in Japan and a former JOCV member.

  1. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. Mrs. Abe welcomed First Lady Rodríguez de Bukele’s visit to Japan. Mrs. Abe mentioned that it was pleasant that Japan and El Salvador had close historical and cultural connections, and First Lady de Bukele expressed her delight to visit Japan and thanked for Mrs. Abe’s warm welcome.
  2. First Lady Rodríguez de Bukele mentioned she had established a ballet company in San Salvador for the training of professional ballerinas. In addition, they exchanged opinions with the Salvadoran student and the former JOCV member on topics such as sports and education for people with disabilities, and exchanges between Japan and El Salvador including Olympic and Paralympic games.
