Meeting between Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA and H.E. Dr. Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit of United Mexican States

On May 2, commencing at 11:10 am local time (6:10 pm JST) for approximately 15 minutes, Foreign Minister Ms.KAMIKAWA Yoko, who is attending the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM), held a meeting with the Vice Chair of the MCM, H.E. Dr. Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit of United Mexican States. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Kamikawa congratulated Mexico on the 30th anniversary of its accession to the OECD. Minister Kamikawa also expressed her gratitude for Mexico's support for the Hiroshima AI Process, and stated that she hopes to advance cooperation through the Hiroshima AI Process Friends Group.
- Minister Ramirez congratulated Japan on the 60th anniversary of its accession to the OECD. The two Ministers confirmed that they will closely cooperate as the Chair and Vice-Chair of the MCM to make this MCM meaningful.
- Minister Kliamikawa further explained that, as this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement between Japan and United Mexican States for Strengthening of the Economic Partnership(Japan-Mexico EPA), trade and investment are expanding rapidly, and Japanese companies are making contribution to the development of Mexico through job creation and human resource development. Minister Kamikawa also pointed out that legal stability and predictability are important when making investments from a medium to long-term perspective, and requested continued cooperation.
