Foreign Minister Hayashi’s visit to the CGCL plant and luncheon with Japanese residents in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

On April 30, commencing at 10:00 a.m. (local time; 11:00 p.m. on the same day JST) for approximately 90 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, visited the Methanol Plant of the Caribbean Gas and Chemical Company Limited (CGCL) invested by Japanese company. Minister Hayashi also held a luncheon with Japanese residents who are active in Trinidad and Tobago, commencing at 1:00 p.m. (local time; 2:00 a.m. on May 1 JST) for approximately 1 hour. The overview is as follows.
- At the Caribbean Gas and Chemical Company Limited (CGCL), in which Japanese company invests, Minister Hayashi received an overview briefing of the company's operations and visited its methanol production plant. Minister Hayashi also exchanged views with company members on future cooperation between Japan and Trinidad and Tobago in the energy sector as well as the business environment for Japanese companies.
- Following this, Minister Hayashi held a luncheon with Japanese residents who are active in Trinidad and Tobago in various areas, including energy, Japanese language education and tourism. Minister Hayashi paid tribute to the activities of each participant in building bridges between Japan and Trinidad and Tobago in various fields, and called for the continued development of ties between the two countries in a wide range of areas.
