Message of condolences from Prime Minister SUGA Yoshihide
following the damage caused by the earthquake occurred in Haiti
On August 15th, regarding the damage resulting from the earthquake occurred in Haiti on the 14th, Mr. SUGA Yoshihide, Prime Minister of Japan, delivered the following message of condolences to H.E. Mr. Ariel Henry, Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti.
“I am grieved and saddened by the news of the earthquake that struck the western part of the Republic of Haiti causing severe damage and resulting in the loss of many precious lives.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, I would like to offer my sincere prayers for those who lost their lives and extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. I sincerely wish for the quick recovery of the people affected as well as the prompt reconstruction of the damaged areas.
I would like to convey that Japan is ready to provide as much support as possible that Haiti needs in order to overcome this great distress. Japan always stands with the people of Haiti.”
