Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI shaking hands with Ms. Haidara, Deputy to the Director General and Managing Director of the Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations of UNIDO

On August 20, commencing at 9:45 am for approximately 15 minutes, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Ms. Fatou Haidara, Deputy to the Director General and Managing Director of the Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), who was visiting Japan on the occasion of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9). The summary is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Ms. ERI welcomed Ms. Haidara to Japan, stating that UNIDO is an important partner sharing key global agendas that Japan prioritizes. Ms. ERI also highlighted Japan's contribution to inclusive and sustainable industrial development, while requesting increased procurement from the Japanese companies and support for the Japanese staff in UNIDO.
  2. In response, Ms. Haidara expressed her gratitude for the contribution from Japan. Both sides agreed to continue collaborating, including the follow-up on the outcomes of TICAD 9.
