  1. Japan will host the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021 on the 7th and 8th of December 2021, in order to accelerate global efforts to tackle malnutrition, as the host country of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
    ((Note) Nutrition for Growth Summit (N4G) has been hosted by the host country of Olympic and Paralympic Games.)
  2. At the Summit, stakeholders from various fields will discuss broad issues related to nutrition and the ways to address the challenges, bearing in mind the global trend of malnutrition exacerbated by COVID-19 pandemic as well as the importance of nutrition in disease prevention and control.
  3. The summit will provide an opportunity for governments, international organizations, businesses and civil society to announce their commitments in response to global, regional and local nutrition challenges. Discussions will be centered around five thematic areas; (1) Health: Making nutrition integral to Universal Health Coverage, (2) Food: Building food systems that promote safe, healthy diets and nutrition, (3) Resilience: Addressing malnutrition effectively in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, (4) Accountability: Promoting data-driven accountability and (5) Financing: Securing new investments to tackle malnutrition.
  4. Japan will promote the global efforts towards nutrition improvement through the Summit, and contribute to achieving the SDGs.
