Japan in the UN: 70th Anniversary
Call for Logo Designs
2026 marks the 70th anniversary of Japan's admission to the United Nations. To commemorate this milestone year, we will implement various commemorative projects and seek to further develop Japan's relationship with the UN. To this end, we are now accepting submissions for a logo to be used in these projects. The application guidelines are as follows. We sincerely look forward to your applications.
1. Overview - Call for designs
- Eligibility:
Anyone can apply, regardless of nationality, age, and place of residence. - Application Period:
February 4 to February 23, 2026 (Japan Time) - Where to submit:

Submitted logo designs will be assessed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and one outstanding design will be selected as the official logo. - Announcement of Results:
Scheduled to be announced in April.
2. How to Submit Your Design
For logo designs, please submit original data, application form, and personal information collection consent form (Word)
for each entry as an attachment to an email, following the instructions (1) to (5) below. Please note that submissions by mail will not be accepted.
- Logo designs should be submitted as electronic data, with a maximum file size of 3MB per design, a resolution of 300dpi or higher, and in PNG format. The printed size should fit within A4. We may request format changes to submitted logo mark proposals.
- Please describe the concept of your logo design in approximately 100 characters within the designated space on the application form (do not include this in the email body).
- Please submit two versions: color (no restrictions on the number of colors or use of gradients) and black and white. Please also consider using at various sizes.
- There is no limit to the number of entries.
- Submitted logo designs, original data, and materials will not be returned.
(Note) The selected logo design may be requested to submit the original file (PSD, AI file, etc.) at a later date.
3. Where to submit (Only email applications will be accepted)

- Attachments: Application form, Personal information collection consent form, and Logo design data (color and black and white versions)
- (Note 1) If a large number of applications are received, exceeding the storage capacity of the mailbox, applications may temporarily be unable to be accepted at the above address. If you receive a sending error, please try again after a day. Also, if the attached file is too large, please compress the file before sending.
- (Note 2) Please be sure to provide a contact telephone number and email address. We may contact you regarding the created content.
- (Note 3) Applicants whose final design is adopted will be announced on the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Those who do not wish to have their personal information (name, etc.) published should clearly state this in the body of the email.
4. Notes
- The logo design must be the applicant's original creation, unpublished domestically and internationally, and must not infringe on the copyrights or trademarks of any third party. Submissions designed using AI (artificial intelligence) image generation are prohibited as they may lead to copyright infringement issues.
- Items that fall under the following categories will not be subject to review.
- Those that violate public order and morals.
- Those that violate or may violate laws and regulations.
- Those that aim to spread specific ideologies, political claims, or religions.
- Those that lack public benefit.
- Those that do not align with the purpose of the “Japan in the UN: 70th Anniversary.”
- Those that are for profit.
- Even after adoption, if it is found that these conditions have been violated, the adoption will be invalidated.
- Necessary corrections and modifications may be made to the adopted logo design for its use as a logo. Note that even after a decision has been made, the adoption may be invalidated if the adopted logo design or the applicant fails to meet the necessary conditions, or if agreement on supplementary work or corrections cannot be obtained.
- All rights relating to the submitted logo designs, and all rights to the copyright of the selected logo design, shall belong to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan. Applicants shall not exercise their moral rights with respect to the adopted logo design.
- If any false information is found in the application form, the adoption may be cancelled even after the decision has been made.
- The completed logo will be distributed to authorized parties approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and used for the “Japan in the UN: 70th Anniversary.”
- Personal information of applicants (excluding name and affiliation) will not be disclosed or provided to third parties without the applicant's permission.
- Acknowledgement of receipt or notification of non-selection will not be provided. Inquiries regarding the selection process cannot be answered. Please note this in advance.
- A design selected as the official logo will feature the catchphrase for Japan in the UN: 70th Anniversary, which will be determined at a later date.
