Dialogue between Foreign Minister IWAYA and Japanese staff members of international organizations

On September 25, commencing at 0:19 p.m. local time (September 26, 1:19 a.m. JST) for approximately 55 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during his visit to New York, U.S., held a dialogue with Japanese staff members working at international organizations in NY. The overview is as follows:
- At the outset, Minister IWAYA expressed his sincere respect for the Japanese staff who are playing active roles in the international organizations with a sense of mission and integrity as “the face of Japan”.
- Minister IWAYA also stated that he will continue to provide support so that Japanese staff can further demonstrate their capabilities and take advantage of more opportunities in international organizations.
- During the meeting, Minister IWAYA and the attending Japanese staff members engaged in a candid exchange of views on various topics including situation surrounding Japanese staff members and international organizations, as well as views about Japan’s efforts in international organizations.
