Foreign Minister Iwaya with Japanese staff members working at international organizations in NY

On September 25, commencing at 0:19 p.m. local time (September 26, 1:19 a.m. JST) for approximately 55 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during his visit to New York, U.S., held a dialogue with Japanese staff members working at international organizations in NY. The overview is as follows:

  1. At the outset, Minister IWAYA expressed his sincere respect for the Japanese staff who are playing active roles in the international organizations with a sense of mission and integrity as “the face of Japan”.
  2. Minister IWAYA also stated that he will continue to provide support so that Japanese staff can further demonstrate their capabilities and take advantage of more opportunities in international organizations.
  3. During the meeting, Minister IWAYA and the attending Japanese staff members engaged in a candid exchange of views on various topics including situation surrounding Japanese staff members and international organizations, as well as views about Japan’s efforts in international organizations.
