The Third Meeting of the Japan-India Space Dialogue

The Third Meeting of the Japan-India Space Dialogue was held in Tokyo on April 1, 2025.
- The dialogue provided an opportunity to exchange information on the space policy of each country and to hold discussions on space security, bilateral cooperation between JAXA and ISRO, their space industries, global navigation satellite systems, space situational awareness (SSA), space-related international rules and norms, and other areas of mutual interests.
- At the outset, the Japanese delegation stated that today marks the beginning of the "Japan India Science Technology and Innovation Exchange Year" and as a kick-off event, the holding of this dialogue is timely, and that Japan would like to work together with India to make the Exchange Year a great success. Subsequently, both sides deepened mutual understanding on respective space policies and agreed to further develop concrete cooperation between two countries.
- Both sides also decided to hold this dialogue on a regular basis to enhance bilateral space cooperation.

- Japanese delegation was led by Mr. SAITA Yukio, Assistant Minister (Ambassador in charge of space policy), Foreign Policy Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. KAZEKI Atsushi, Director-General for International Cooperation, National Space Policy Secretariat, Cabinet Office. The dialogue was attended by officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Space Policy Secretariat, Cabinet Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Environment, and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
- Indian Delegation was led by Ms. Muanpuii Saiawi, Joint Secretary, Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division, Ministry of External Affairs of India and Mr. M.Ganesh Pillai, Scientific Secretary, Indian Space Research Organisation. The dialogue was attended by officials from Ministry of External Affairs, National Security Council Secretariat, Department of Space, Ministry of Defense, and Indian Space Research Organisation.
