- The Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Vital Voices Global Ambassadors Program PublicForum in Japan will be a half-day event that will convene stakeholders and thoughtleaders to discuss contemporary issues concerning women’s economic and socialempowerment in Japan. Despite being the world’s third largest economy, Japan ranks104th out of 142 countries on the World Economic Forum’s 2014 Global Gender GapIndex. With one of the world’s lowest rates of women in the workforce, Prime MinisterShinzo Abe pledged to increase the economic participation of women in Japan through aset of policies popularly referred to as “Womenomics,” which includes goals to providechildcare to every parent and increase the participation of women to 30 percent in allsectors by 2020. - In 2011, Vital Voices and Bank of America developed a signature partnership toaccelerate women’s leadership development throughout the world. The GlobalAmbassadors Program connects extraordinary women leaders for mentorshipopportunities.
In each country that hosts a Global Ambassador Program, we bring together eight totwelve Global Ambassadors (mentors) to participate in a week-long program that includesleadership development trainings, one-on-one and group mentoring sessions with eight totwelve women leaders (mentees) who are at a tipping point in terms of their professional,business and leadership paths.
The Global Ambassadors Program in Japan will consist of a public forum as well as theintensive mentorship initiative. From 12th to 16th October 2015 in Tokyo, the program willfocus on furthering the economic empowerment of women leaders in Japan, frombusinesswomen to entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs who lead small and medium-sized enterprises to women leaders of NGO’s, through structured dialogues, trainings andmentoring sessions. Engaging Global Ambassadors to serve as trainers and mentors, theprogram will create a lasting impact for the participating Japanese mentees.

- Green Belt Trust has started a project "Green, Clean and Safe City" in Cox's Bazar. The Art Camp will be arranged for young girls and women college/university students. They will learn from the camp how to make city "Green, Clean and Safe city" and develop creative art products which will be sold. The revenue from these products will be distributed to relevant partners.
