Informal Talks between Foreign Minister IWAYA and Dutch Prime Minister SCHOOF

On June 25 (June 25, JST), Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting the Netherlands held informal talks with H.E. Mr. Dick SCHOOF, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for approximately 10 minutes on the occasion of the NATO Summit. The overview is as follows.
- Minister Iwaya expressed his respect for Prime Minister Schoof's leadership as the host country of the NATO Summit, and stated that he hopes to further deepen cooperation in various fields, including security, trade, economic security and culture based on the “Japan-Netherlands Action Plan 2025”, which was announced in April this year. In response, Prime Minister Schoof expressed his gratitude to Japan for the hospitality extended during his visit to Japan, and stated that he hopes to further develop the long-standing bilateral relationship between Japan and the Netherlands.
- The two sides also concurred on the commencement of negotiations of the Japan-Netherlands Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA).
