On June 10, from 5:10 p.m. for about 20 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan held a meeting with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg, who is visiting Japan. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Prime Minister Kishida stated that the close relationship between the Imperial Household and the Grand Ducal Household is the cornerstone of excellent bilateral relations between Japan and Luxembourg. Prime Minister Kishida welcomed the Luxembourg Economic Mission led by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume to Japan, hoping that this mission will further strengthen the economic relationship between Japan and Luxembourg, especially in the fields of space and start-ups. In response, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume expressed his gratitude at being able to visit Japan for the first time in 10 years, leading the economic mission, and his intention to further develop the friendly relationship between the two countries.
  2. Prime Minister Kishida and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume confirmed that both countries will strengthen cooperation in the fields of space and start-ups. The both sides also concurred to further strengthen bilateral relations, including business cooperation, referring to the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai to be held in the next year. The both sides also exchanged views on regional affairs and shared the view that the both countries will work closely together on various issues facing the international community.
