Prime Minister Kishida’s Attendance at the NATO Summit and Visit to the Federal Republic of Germany

From July 10 to 11, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, is scheduled to visit Washington D.C., the U.S., to attend the NATO Summit, and, from July 12 to 14, to visit the Federal Republic of Germany to hold the Japan-Germany Summit Meeting and other meetings.
- On the occasion of this year’s NATO Summit, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of NATO, Prime Minister Kishida will reaffirm with NATO allies and other partners the recognition that the securities of the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific are inseparable, and will enhance the Japan-NATO cooperation in the future.
- Given that coordination among like-minded countries is becoming more important than ever, amid the current severe international situation, Prime Minister Kishida will also visit Germany, an important partner in Europe and the G7. With the Japan-Germany ACSA having been approved by the Diet of Japan, and against the backdrop of increasingly active bilateral exchanges and cooperation, including in security areas, Japan will further enhance cooperation with Germany.
- Through these visits, Japan intends to further enhance cooperation with NATO and Germany for upholding a free and open international order based on the rule of law.
