The Informal Meeting of the Joint Committee of the Japan-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA)

- On April 13, the informal meeting of the Joint Committee under the Japan-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA), co-chaired by Mr. UYAMA Hideki, Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific, European External Action Service, was held virtually.
- Japan and the EU exchanged views on the response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine and other issues, and then discussed such agendas as implementation of the Japan-EU Green Alliance, implementation of the Japan-EU Partnership on Sustainable Connectivity and Quality Infrastructure, and cooperation in the digital sector. Japan and the EU shared the view that they would continue enhancing cooperation in accordance with the SPA.
