Eleventh Round of Negotiations on Japan-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA)

- The eleventh round of negotiations on Japan-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) was held in Brussels on March 17.
- The meeting was attended by, on the Japanese side, Mr. Manabu Miyagawa, Deputy Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau and other representatives, and on the EU side, Mr. Ugo Astuto, Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific, European External Action Service and other representatives.
- At the meeting, further progress was made in some areas of co-operation.
- The timing of the next round of negotiations is to be decided.
