- The 13th round of negotiations on Japan-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) was held in Brussels on June 8.
- The meeting was attended by, on the Japanese side, Mr. Yasushi Masaki, Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other representatives, and on the EU side, Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director for Asia and Pacific, European External Action Service, and other representatives.
- At the meeting, further progress was made on some areas of cooperation.
- The date for the next round of negotiations will be decided in the future.
