On March 3, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Farhod SALIM, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri stated that Republic of Tajikistan is a partner for Japan in maintaining and strenghning a free and open international order based on the rule of law. Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri expressed her willingness to cooperate with Ambassador Salim in following up the outcomes of the visit of the H.E. Mr. Emomali RAHMON, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, for the Summit of the “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue (CA+JAD) with a view to further developing bilateral relations, using the opportunities such as the 14th Tokyo Dialogue to be held on March 5th.
  2. In response, Ambassador Salim extended his congratulations on Ms. Eri’s reappointment, and expressed gratitude for Japan’s support including ODA, making remarks regarding various efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations.
  3. The two sides also exchanged views on regional situations and confirmed that would continue to work closely together in various fields.
