Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI Arfiya by H.E. Mr. Yerlan BAUDARBEK-KOZHATAYEV, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan

On July 30, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Yerlan BAUDARBEK-KOZHATAYEV, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- At the outset, Ambassador Baudarbek-Kozhatayev extended his condolences to Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri regarding the Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred on July 28.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri said that her visit to Kazakhstan last May was fruitful through meetings with senior Kazakhstani government officials, and she expressed her intention to continue working closely with Ambassador Baudarbek-Kozhatayev toward the further development of bilateral relations, including cooperation in the economic and energy sectors.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri also extended her congratulations on the inscription of Kazakhstan's “Rock Mosques and Associated Sacred Sites of Mangystau" on the UNESCO World Heritage List at the 48th Session of the World Heritage Committee, alongside Japan's own “Ancient Capitals of Asuka and Fujiwara."
- Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining close cooperation in the international arena, and affirmed to continue strengthening their partnership in light of last year's "Central Asia plus Japan" Dialogue Summit and President Tokayev's visit to Japan.
