Japan-Georgia Relations

On Friday, March 15, commencing at around 6 p.m. for approximately 15 minutes, Mr. Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Mamuka BAKHTADZE, Prime Minister of Georgia.

1. At the beginning of the dinner, Deputy Prime Minister Aso expressed his pleasure for meeting in Tokyo with Prime Minister Bakhtadze following their last meeting in Manila, Philippines in May 2018. Prime Minister Aso also conveyed his expectation that Japan-Georgia business forum on the same day and the Georgia wine exhibition would enhance the bilateral exchanges and the promotion of trade between Japan and Georgia.

2. Prime Minister Bakhtadze welcomed the steady development of the bilateral relations. He also conveyed his gratitude for the support from Japan. He also expressed his hope for more active bilateral ties between the two countries including expansion of the presence of Japanese companies in Georgian Market.
