On November 16 (local time), Mr. NAKAGOME Masashi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine and H.E. Mr. Serhii Andrushchenko, First Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, signed the "Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of Ukraine on the Security of Information" in Kyiv, Ukraine, in the presence of Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and H.E. Mr. Denys SHMYHAL, Prime Minister of Ukraine.

  1. This Agreement stipulates measures in order for both receiving Parties to protect, in accordance with its national laws and regulations, classified information which is exchanged between the governments of Japan and Ukraine and requires protection in the interests of national security.
  2. The government of Japan expects that the conclusion of the Agreement will ensure appropriate protection of classified information shared between the two governments and will promote further beneficial information exchanges.
