Video Message by Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio at the Forth Summit of the Crimea Platform

On September 11, the Government of Ukraine held the Forth Summit of the Crimea Platform, which was attended by H.E. Mr. Volodymyr ZELENSKYY, President of Ukraine and other ministers of Ukraine, and the heads of the governments and international organizations, as well as all other participants and those concerned. Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio participated in the Summit Meeting by delivering a video message. The overview is as follows.
- Prime Minister Kishida expresses his respect for the courage of the Ukrainian people to defend their homeland and freedom under the leadership of President Zelensky in the face of the ongoing Russia’s aggression. Japan supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea.
- In June, I attended the “Summit on Peace in Ukraine” held in Switzerland on the initiative of President Zelensky, and stressed the importance of achieving a “just and lasting peace” in Ukraine in order to lead the entire international community towards a world of cooperation, not that of division. It is important that the outcomes of this conference be carried forward to the second summit and to restore peace on the beautiful land of Ukraine as soon as possible.
