Meeting between Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI Yoshimasa and H.E. Mr. Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

On February 12, commencing at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, who is visiting Japan upon the invitation from the President of the House of Councillors of Japan. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Senate President Vystrčil’s visit to Japan and stated that, as strategic partners, cooperation between Japan and the Czech Republic has been deepening across a wide range of fields. He expressed hope that opportunities such as the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai and the signing of the Japan-Czech Republic Air Services Agreement would serve to further develop bilateral economic relations and people-to-people exchanges.
- In response, Senate President Vystrčil welcomed the increasing people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, including inter-parliamentary exchanges, and expressed his hope for the strengthening of bilateral economic relations, including in the areas of investment and tourism. Furthermore, the two ministers exchanged views on recent international affairs, and agreed to continue deepening cooperation between their two countries.
