Japan-EU Summit Telephone Talk

On December 8, commencing at 7:22 p.m. for approximately five minutes, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, held a telephone talk with H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission. The overview of the telephone talk is as follows. Following this telephone talk, a joint statement on the Japan-European Union (EU) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) (English (PDF) / Japanese (PDF)
) was issued.
1. They confirmed the finalisation of negotiations on the Japan-EU EPA (PDF) after the five months of work following The agreement in principle on July 6 this year.
2. They confirmed that they will continue their collaboration for an early signing and entry into force of the Japan-EU EPA.
