Fifteenth Round of Negotiations on the Japan EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

1 The Fifteenth round of negotiations on the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held in Brussels, Belgium, from February 29 to March 4.
2 The meeting was attended by, on the Japanese side, representatives from relevant ministries headed by Mr. Koji Haneda, Ambassador for International Economic Affairs, and on the EU side, representatives headed by Mr. Mauro Petriccione, Deputy Director-General, Directorate-General for Trade, European Commission.
3 At the meeting, fruitful discussions were conducted on areas such as trade in goods, trade in services, intellectual property rights, non-tariff measures, government procurement, and investment.
4 The schedule of the next round will be arranged accordingly, and the week of April 11 in Tokyo is currently under consideration.
