On December 10, commencing at 9:35 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. KIHARA Minoru, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum. The overview is as follows:

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary KIHARA appreciated that the World Economic Forum has been actively leading discussions on solutions to issues facing the international community. He stated that Japan intends to lead international discussions in various fields through strengthening cooperation among relevant stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, and expressed his intention to continue its cooperative relationship with the Forum.
  2. H.E. Mr. Brende emphasized the great importance he places on the long-standing cooperation between Japan and Forum and expressed his expectations for Japan’s role amid complex international circumstances.
