Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

The Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia exchanged diplomatic notes for the amendment of Annex 2 (Product Specific Rules) under Japan-Indonesia Economic Partnership Agreement (the Agreement) on July 3, 2023 in Jakarta, following the adoption of modified Operational Procedures referred to in Chapter 2 (Trade in Goods) and Chapter 3 (Rules of Origin) at the Joint Committee under the Agreement in November, 2022. Amended Annex 2(Note) will enter into force on February 5, 2024. The main purpose of the amendment is to update Annex 2, which was based on HS 2002 to be based on HS 2017 and to simplify the description of some product specific rules with abbreviations. Modified Operational Procedures (PDF) will come into operation on the same day.

(Note) The correction for the product specific rule of 8708.50 of Amended Annex 2 (PDF) was made in December 2023.
