On July 2, for about 20 minutes from 4:30 p.m., Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio received a courtesy call from Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) during his visit to Japan. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Prime Minister Kishida expressed his pleasure at a reunion with Professor Schwab, stated on the importance of further strengthening relations with various stake holders while the international community is facing various challenges, and expressed his expectations for the World Economic Forum meeting, which serves as an opportunity for dialogue among business leaders.
- Professor Schwab stated that he was delighted at the reunion, and expressed his expectations for Japan’s role in the growing importance of international cooperation and his wish to continue cooperation with Japan through the activities of WEF including the next annual meeting in Davos scheduled in January 2025.
