From October 4 to 6, Prof. OKI Taikan, Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the 23rd Annal Meeting of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum held in Kyoto, Japan.

  1. At the Meeting, Prof. Oki participated as a panellist in the plenary session titled “The Future of Science Diplomacy: Bump or Fork?”. He introduced Japan's recent initiatives of science and technology diplomacy, and engaged in discussions on the approach to science and technology diplomacy, taking into account the current international situation and rapidly evolving trends in science and technology.
  2. On the sidlines of the Annual Meeting, Prof. Oki exchanged views with government officials and scientists from various countries on various topics such as science and technology diplomacy, research cooperation and acceleration of networking among researchers.
