A Courtesy Call by participants of the German-Japanese Junior Experts Exchange Program on Prof. MATSUMOTO Yoichiro, Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs
On November 21, Prof. MATSUMOTO Yoichiro, Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by six young German experts who are visiting Japan under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' German-Japanese Junior Experts Exchange Program.
Prof. Matsumoto welcomed the participants’ visit to Japan under the program and held a lively discussion on trends in battery technology research and development, which aligns with this year's program theme of 'Battery Research for Carbon Neutrality'. He also exchanged views with them on ways to promote science and technology cooperation between Japan and Germany, drawing on his own research experience in Germany.

The German-Japanese Junior Experts Exchange Program is an annual program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which invites young experts from Germany to visit Japanese research institutions and private companies with the aim of building cooperation and promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Germany. It is paired with the program of inviting Japanese researchers to Germany, implemented by the Japanese-German Center Berlin.
This year, six young German experts visited Japan under the theme of 'Battery Research for Carbon Neutrality''.
