  1. On December 3, the Fourteenth Annual Japan-UK Nuclear Dialogue was held in a hybrid format in Manchester, UK, co-chaired by Mr. MATSUMOTO Kyosuke, Ambassador, Deputy Director General for Disarmament, Non-proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Chris Heffer, Director General for Nuclear Power, Infrastructure and Decommissioning, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero of the UK.
  2. Both countries exchanged opinions on their activities on the following topics: “Safety and Regulation”, “Public Communications”, “Research and Development”, “Decommissioning, Waste Management and Environmental Remediation” “Fusion Energy Policy” and “Nuclear Policy”.
  3. Building on the discussions at this dialogue, further enhancement of cooperation between Japan and the UK in the broad field of nuclear energy is expected.
