  1. On December 8, the ninth Annual Japan-UK Nuclear Dialogue was held online, co-chaired by Mr. Ikematsu Hidehiro, Deputy Director-General, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Stephen Speed, Director, Nuclear, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the UK.
  2. Participants from the both sides exchanged their views and efforts on nuclear energy policy, decommissioning and environmental remediation, nuclear research and development, public communication, and nuclear safety and regulation. Based on the discussion in the dialogue, further enhancement of nuclear cooperation between Japan and the UK is expected.
