Exchange of views between Assistant to the Prime Minister TERADA Minoru and
Minister of State of the United Kingdom the Rt Hon James CLEVERLY
On January 18, commencing at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. TERADA Minoru, Assistant to the Prime Minister, exchanged views online on nuclear disarmament with the Rt Hon. James CLEVERLY, MP, Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom.
Mr. TERADA explained Prime Minister KISHIDA’s strong determination to lead international efforts towards a world without nuclear weapons and underscored the importance of maintaining and strengthening the NPT regime, which constitutes the cornerstone of the international nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation regime. Minister CLEVERLY explained the United Kingdom's views regarding the postponed 10th NPT Review Conference.
Both sides affirmed close cooperation between Japan and the United Kingdom to maintain momentum for the success of the 10th NPT Review Conference.
