1. Opening Remarks
(1) Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Truong Tan Sang, Permanent Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of the Vietnam Central Committee
Minister Matsumoto: His Excellency Mr. Truong Tan San, Permanent Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, will visit Japan for four days from Wednesday, June 1 to Saturday, June 4 as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Permanent Member Truong Tan San’s visit to Japan was originally planned in March this year, which, however, has been rescheduled owing to the Great East Japan Earthquake.
During his stay in Japan, Permanent Member Truong Tan Sang is scheduled to meet with me and we will exchange views on bilateral political and economic cooperation from the perspective of strengthening the strategic partnership. Permanent Member Truong Tan Sang will also hold meetings with Mr. Naoto KAN, Prime Minister of Japan, and other government officials as well as with business executives. Permanent Member Truong Tan Sang will visit Asahi City in Chiba Prefecture, which was affected by tsunami in March, to show solidarity between Japan and Viet Nam in efforts toward reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake. This will be followed by Permanent Member Truong Tan Sang's visit to Osaka.
We are hoping that his visit will further deepen relations between Japan and Vietnam.
