- From September 19 to September 25, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Ryuji Yamane will visit Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Washington DC, the United States of America.
- In Haiti, Senior Vice-Minister Yamane will visit the Self-Defense Forces unit currently on dispatch with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), and the sites where Japanese NGOs are helping Haiti’s reconstruction from the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in January 2010. During his stay in Haiti, Senior Vice-minister Yamane will exchange views with involved parties.
- In Washington DC, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yamane will attend the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Development on September 23, where he will discuss important development issues such as infrastructure development, food security, etc., based on the activities this year of the G20 Development Working Group. Moreover, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yamane plans to exchange opinions with ministers from other countries who are attending this meeting.
