  1. The Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Panel on Global Sustainability (GSP) will be held over two days from Sunday, September 18 to Monday, September 19 in New York City. From Japan, Dr. Yukio Hatoyama, Former Prime Minister, will attend the Meeting (September 18 only).

  2. The GSP is a panel established in August 2010 based on the initiative of Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, with the objective of formulating a new vision for the realization of sustainable growth and prosperity, along with mechanisms for achieving it. Her Excellency Ms. Tarja Halonen, President of Finland, and His Excellency Mr. Jacob Zuma, President of the Republic of South Africa, will act as Co-Chairs of the Panel.

  3. The panel members have continued their discussions with the aim of presenting a report to Secretary-General Ban in early January, 2012. At the upcoming meeting, they will exchange views on the global sustainability, including possible recommendations to be included in the report.
