Prime Minister Kan to host an "Iftar" (fast-breaking dinner during the Holy Month of Ramadan)

- Prime Minister Naoto Kan will invite the Ambassadors of Islamic nations and others to an "Iftar" (fast-breaking dinner during the Holy Month of Ramadan) at the Prime Minister's Office on the evening of August 2.
- The purpose of this invitation is to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the Islamic world.
- 48 representatives from the Islamic Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo will be invited to this dinner. Some dignitaries of Islamic nations will also be attending the dinner during their stay in Japan, including H.E. Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Financial Minister of Bangladesh, Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Central Bank of Bangladesh, and H.E. Dr. Osama Bin Mohammed Al-Kurdi, Member of Majlis Ash-Shura (Consultative Council of Saudi Arabia).
