Negotiations on a Japan-India Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy

- On June 28 (Mon) and 29 (Tue) in Tokyo, the first round of negotiations on a Japan-India Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy will be held.
- The round will be attended from the Japanese side by: Mr. Mitsuru Kitano, Deputy-Director General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Special Representative in charge of Japan-India Nuclear Energy Cooperation Agreement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan: Head of the Japanese Delegation) and officials concerned from relevant ministries; and from the Indian side by: Mr. Gautam Bambawale, Joint Secretary, East Asia, Ministry of External Affairs (Head of the Indian Delegation) and officials concerned.
- In this round, discussions will be held on how to conduct talks in the future, and on the contents of the Agreement which is aimed at conducting cooperation between Japan and India in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
