Visit to Japan by Mr. John Holmes, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator

- From June 10 (Thu) to June 12 (Sat), Mr. John Holmes, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, will visit Japan for the purpose of strengthening cooperative relations between Japan and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the area of humanitarian assistance.
- During his visit, Under-Secretary-General Holmes will hold talks with senior government officials, deliver a speech at the symposium commemorating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the UNHCR eCentre, give press interviews, etc.
- Japan has given proactive support for the resolution of the world’s humanitarian issues. It is expected that the visit to Japan this time by Under-Secretary-General Holmes will contribute to the further enhancement of cooperative relations between Japan and OCHA.
