- The Australia - Japan - United States Trilateral Workshop on Efforts
to Empower Moderate Sectors of Society will be held on July 27 and 28, 2009
in Tokyo.
- Mr. Katsuro Nagai, Director for International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation
Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs will represent the Japan side while
Mr. Ronald Post, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the United States
will represent the U.S. side, and Mr. Greg Ralph, Acting Assistant Secretary,
Counter-Terrorism Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will represent
the Australian side respectively.
- At this Workshop, Japan, the U.S. and Australia will exchange and share
the information and experiences regarding the programs each partner has
in place to assist local efforts to promote tolerance and respect in communities
of the South-East Asian region.
- This is part of the Australia - Japan - United States Ambassador-level Counter-Terrorism Consultations established in September 2005. Japan will host the 5th round of Consultations later this year.
