The 5th Australia-Japan-United States Counter-Terrorism Consultation

  1. The 5th Australia-Japan-United States Trilateral Counter-Terrorism Consultation will be held on December 14 (Mon) and 15 (Tue) in Tokyo.

  2. Mr. Kiyoshi Araki, Ambassador in charge of International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs will represent the Japan side while Ambassador Daniel Benjamin, Coordinator for Counterterrorism at the Department of State will represent the U.S. side, and Mr. Bill Paterson, Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will represent the Australian side.

  3. At this round of the consultation, which was established under the framework of Trilateral Strategic Dialogue (TSD), Japan, the U.S. and Australia will share information regarding the current terrorism situation.  The three sides will explore the possibility of joint trilateral efforts for further international counter-terrorism cooperation.
