Visit to Japan by U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres

- Mr. António Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR), will visit Japan from December 18(Thu) to December 20(Sat).
- During
his visit, Mr. Guterres will have consultations with Japanese government
officials as well as members of the Parliamentary League for the UNHCR on
such issues including refugee policy in Japan and cooperation between Japan
and the UNHCR. He will conduct public relations activities such as
press conference at the Foreign Correspondents, etc.
- In cooperation with the UNHCR, Japan has provided humanitarian assistance for refugees and internally-displaced persons around the world. It is expected that Mr. Guterres’s visit will help to strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the UNHCR.
